Verminators

I am watching this show on Discovery so I will wake up screaming all night...........uggggh!!! I am creeped out

I have only seen ants and an occasional spider here. 2 years ago there was those earwigs but they are looooong gone and I have not seen one since except outside, if there is ANY bug around here its gone immediately!!!!! I do not tolerate any bug in the house!!!!!


I am freaked out by nothing more than roaches, they give me the willies, I am so glad I never lived anywhere that had them and If I did I would move or immediately get the place taken care of!!!!

I keep on thinking I see these bugs outside only at night that look like roaches but they FLY, My sister thinks I am crazy, She says "Roaches don't fly!!!" I am so scared to go out at night, no one has seen them except me and they are outside, where??? I don't know(I saw 2, well at least I thought I did!!!!)

I read up on the internet that they infested Florida and the southern states(these flying horrors!), if it is really them and they are in NY Now I am MOVING!!!!!(as far as I read they are not a common thing in NY)
She keeps reassuring me they are beetles and I am hallucinating because I am so scared of roaches.......

Nelson Mandela - Special AKA

There was a concert for Nelson Mandela's 90th Birthday Friday in London, I didn't hear too much about it here in the US just a blip on the news...For the finale they did this song with Amy Winehouse and all of the performers singing. I just watched it on youtube, but I like the original better. I bought this record on 45 when it came out in 1984, I still have it!!!

Rummaging again!

Blue bottles for the garden - 25 cents each!!! from a church rummage sale! I started that blue bottle thing , mmm maybe 4 years ago, I used to have them lined in the window of my apartment way before that also, but the garden thing was 4 years ago...




Pyrex Bowls 50 cents each, This was at a church rummage sale, I like the color ones but hey it was pyres and cheap, I grew up with the pyrex pattern on the left




Coaster day - Paper Pineapple coasters for a dime for the lot and the others I think were 10 cents each! These were at the Thrift shop..

From Garage sale say Sea Cliff, it was laying on a table in a big heap with a sign that said "All Clothes 50 cents" the only thing that bothers me is that the pattern is just slightly similar to the Michelle Obama dress that they are making a big stink over from "The View" but at least it does not really look like it!!!!!

WORD OF THE DAY: Cankles

Cankles..... do you know the word? its common in babies and they say women, But I have seen some cankles on men too, I saw someone with the weirdest cankles recently which made me want to investigate the word.

Here is ONE definition of it that I found on the internet: An unfortunate condition, most common in females, in which the bottom of the leg and top of the foot meet with no apparent "in between".




Cankles run in my family, but fortunately I do not have them!!!

Some cankleness is caused by medical reasons, water retention or some type of problem, but there is a majority of people out there that just have them for no apparent reason besides genetics.....

I passed this by in the free pile on the way into a thrift shop and then I saw it, I must have this, my mind said, I think I might use it as a pen holder, it might be a good gift...... I just love "PORK DRIPPING" it sounds so discusting!

Cheese Signs - $2 for a box of ceramic cheese Identification signs, it comes with a grease pencil too!!! they had plastic ones at the dollar spot in Target a couple of years ago and I didn't get them them and I kept getting mad I didnt get them, Now I have some vintage ones!!!!

Bamboo set

Yes I keep them covered , I have a 3 cushion couch and 2 chairs, 2 end tables a coffee table and ottoman, these are the original cushions and only one has a small rip which is hidden!!! I got it at an estate sale pretty cheap for the set, its not one to these fancy ones with curved arms or a designer name but it fit my budget!!!! I just have the two chairs and coffe table out, I have no room for the others right now and I keep the chairs covered all the time!!

Oh I just looked it up it was $140 from an estate sale for the entire set I got it in November of 2004!!!!

As for the tiki bar, I am scarred, I think it was as far back as the early 2000's, I walked into the salvation army and there it was, a tiki bar, I mean real carved dark wood, the chairs were two full sized tiki men the tops of the chairs were leopard covered, I ran up to it and it had a sold sign on it!!! I was so sad!!! Since them I have been looking for the same or similar one!!!

Garage sale Day Sea Cliff NY 6/7/08

It started out as a cool day then around 9 am I started to melt, I am not sure how high the temperature got put it was supposed to be in the 90's, I bought a LARGE slurpee and within minutes it was melted, the sales aren't what they used to be but its really nice driving around this town, I love the houses - I will post my loot later, I let go of a lot of things, I am trying to cut back!!!!

My Atomic Covers - I had bought these atomic plastic covers New in the package a couple of months ago and I went to sew a hem on my pants and saw how FILTHY my sewing machine was so I used one of them to cover my Sewing machine!!!

On tuesdays they have free ticket night if you have the cable package(phone, internet and TV) you get two free tickets, well I guess everyone had the same idea, all the showings of Sex and the City were sold out (5pm, 7pm and 8pm!!) and they had two theatres set up for it!!!! I guess I will try next week............

No I didn't see the movie, I don't like to go to things with a HUGE crowd and also there was no one to go with!!! No one I know was as into it as I was(that I know) but it must've been big since it was the number one movie beating out Indiana Jones in its second week.....

Yes I cheated, on Saturday I looked on Wikipedia, it has the whole plot, if you do not want to know what happens don't look, but I predicted exactly what would happen!!!

If you have to cable, phone line and internet through cable they have a rewards card and you get to go to the movies on tuesday for free and I am going to use my card for the first time, even though I have had it for a year!!!!
